New Child Dental Benefits Schedule

children | Kedron Family Dental

[dt_vc_list dividers=”false”]The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is a new government initiative introduced in January 2014 for eligible 2-17year olds. It entitles patients up to $1000 in dental benefits, which can be used in a private practice, to be used over a 2 consecutive calendar year period. It replaces the Teen Dental Voucher scheme.

Eligible children will be sent a letter from early January 2014 and can use their entitlement towards:

  • examinations
  • xrays
  • cleaning
  • fissure sealants
  • fillings
  • root canals
  • extractions
  • partial dentures

A child is eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule if:

  • he or she is aged between 2-17 yrs old on any day in the calendar year; and
  • is eligible for Medicare; and
  • receives or is part of a family receiving a relevant Australian government payment such as Family Tax Benefit Part A.
